NASA Chief <\/span>Jim Bridenstine said that Elon Musk smoking pot on a podcast was \u201cnot appropriate,\u201d that it \u201cdid not inspire confidence,\u201d and may have prompted a safety review of both Musk\u2019s SpaceX and Boeings United Launch Alliance<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The companies are vying to ferry astronauts into space.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s an alternate point of view, just for discussion. Maybe the NASA chief has it backwards.<\/span><\/p>\n

Perhaps the smoking of pot by a man who revolutionized money (Paypal<\/a>), the automobile (Tesla<\/a>) and space flight with reusable rockets (SpaceX<\/a>) should cause Bridenstine to reexamine his attitudes<\/a> toward marijuana. We all support decisions based on reliable evidence.<\/span><\/p>\n
